Ohvale GP-7: The New Bike for a New CIV Junior Class

The new Italian CIV Junior category, featuring the Ohvale GP-7, debuts at EICMA 2024

A new category for new thrills.
Unveiled at EICMA 2024, the new GP Junior class will make its debut in the 2025 CIV Junior season, featuring the all-new Ohvale GP-7. This innovative project is the result of a collaboration between the Italian Motorcycle Federation (FMI) and Ohvale, aiming to bring fresh excitement to junior racing.
The Ohvale GP-7 represents a leap forward in motorsport technology, boasting 17-inch wheels, an aluminum perimeter frame, a 250cc fuel-injected engine, fully adjustable suspension, and a complete Brembo braking system.
Open to riders aged 12 and up, the new class aims to create a smoother transition from CIV Junior to the Dunlop CIV, supporting the development of young talents. This is achieved through reduced costs, made possible by the combined efforts of Federmoto and Ohvale.
During the presentation at EICMA, held at a packed FMI stand, key figures such as Giovanni Copioli (FMI President), Simone Folgori (FMI Speed Coordinator), Valerio Da Lio (Ohvale CEO and Founder), and Marzio Leoncini (CIV Junior Manager) took the stage to share insights into this exciting initiative.

The GP Junior class will feature the Ohvale GP-7, the brand’s new 17-inch racing motorcycle, and adopt a Rookies Cup-style format. All riders will compete on identical bikes provided by the organizers, who will also handle transportation, maintenance, and technical support with dedicated mechanics and telemetry experts.
To further support young riders, the FMI, Ohvale, and partner companies will offer discounted gear and protective equipment. Fuel and tires will be supplied exclusively under a single-provider system.

As part of CIV Junior, the GP Junior class will benefit from live race broadcasts on FedermotoTV. The championship is expected to visit premier circuits like Misano and Vallelunga in 2025, providing world-class venues for young talents to showcase their skills. The series will also feature a dedicated prize pool and the support of FMI Technical Coaches, offering circuit analysis, race briefings, and invaluable guidance.

Simone Folgori, FMI Speed Coordinator:
“As FMI, we are committed to supporting as many riders as possible, expanding the base of participants. Over the years, Ohvale has proven to be a valuable partner in this mission, and the GP Junior is the latest milestone in our collaboration. We believe this category will nurture talents and deliver great racing spectacle.”

Valerio Da Lio, CEO and Founder Ohvale: ““FMI and Ohvale have formed a strong partnership in developing the careers of young Italian riders. Since the start of our collaboration with the Italian Motorcycle Federation, Ohvale has focused on creating innovative bikes that pave the way for new generations in motorsport. The OHVALE GP-7 is a new chapter in this synergy, and we thank FMI for helping us build a project that supports young talents with equal bikes and affordable costs.”
